A much better day and an "ahhhh" story!

Download wordart here

The air was working today and everything was right in the world. Well, everything except for the big black and blue bruise on my knee. It's not pretty!

This morning, I was talking to my class and taking a few steps backward as I spoke. I bumped into a chair and almost fell over it. LOL!

This time I got a big reaction from my class. They laughed and laughed!

They all laughed except for one little boy who said, "It's ok Ms. Brown, I fall down all the time too."

Now, that was such a sweet thing for him to say, but you have to know the whole story to understand how much it meant to me and why it almost made me cry.

This little boy is as smart as they come, but because of a birth defect his arms and legs aren't fully developed. It's been less than a year since he took his first steps. On very unsteady legs he walks and runs and falls and picks himself up and keeps going with a smile on his face the whole time.

He is my hero.

  1. He's my hero, too!! Love him to pieces. How can you resist a kid who just keeps at it, no matter the obstacle?

  2. He's my hero, too, just after my granddaughter. She has skeletal dysplasia. Her doctor didn't know if she would crawl. She didn't get the memo, she runs.
