Pay It Forward!!!

Download wordart here

When I have the time, I love to visit your blogs. I admit that I don't do it as much as I should and want to, but it is always so much fun to see what everyone else is blogging about and creating. Wish I had just a fraction of the crafting talent my blog readers have!

Well, the other day I visited Di's blog: Pixie's Crafty Workshop and lucked into a Pay It Forward blog post. I love getting and giving presents so I just had to join in on the fun!

Now, you can get in on the fun too! All you have to do is agree to pay it forward yourself. If you are one of the first three people to leave a comment on this blog post saying you want to join in on the fun you'll receive a surprise in the mail from me. You, in turn, have to make a pay it forward post on your blog and agree to send something to three people.

I will be receiving something from Di and I just can't wait to see who I'll be sending gifts to. So, comment and post away people! Let's get the fun started!

Don't worry, I'm fine, but...

Download wordart here

"Don't worry, I'm fine, but..." Is how I started several phone calls on Sunday afternoon after being hit by another car on the interstate. It's also how I want to start this blog post, because I am fine and surprisingly so is my car (kind of).

I guess that if you have to be in a car accident, you should be in one like I was in. No one was hurt, the guy who hit me was super nice and insured, traffic wasn't messed up too much because we were able to get off the road and the tow truck driver was cute.

You guys have already heard about how much I love my express lanes and how I don't mind paying to use them. Well, on Sunday afternoon I couldn't use the express lanes because they were closed for some reason. Had they been opened I wouldn't have been in the lane I was in and my car would be fine. But then again, I wouldn't have gotten to see the cute tow truck driver and I wouldn't have anything to post about tonight either. So, I guess everything does work out OK in the end. lol!

I was driving north on the interstate when the guy in the lane to my right came over into my lane. He didn't sideswipe me though. It was more like he was trying to make a left hand turn for absolutely no reason at all. He hit my tire. My tire blew out and while it was kind of scary I managed to stay in my lane and not hit anyone else. It happened right before an exit so we were able to get off the road and not cause traffic to back up too much for too long.

The guy couldn't have been nicer. Well, I guess NOT hitting me would have been nicer, but he got out of his car right away and made sure I wasn't hurt. He admitted right away that it was his fault and that saved lots of time when the police arrived. His story was that he was trying to avoid something in the road. However, the only thing I saw in the road was my hubcap as it rolled away after he hit me. lol!

Well, just in case you guys haven't been able to figure it out yet I am so NOT the person you want to be trapped with during an emergency. I tend to make "panic" look calm. If I were in a movie with an emergency scene, I'd be the person they slap in the face to calm down. So, here's how my conversation with the police went.

Police Officer: Can you tell me what happened?
ME: (totally serious) I don't know I didn't see it.
Police Officer: Ummm...weren't you driving?
ME: Yeah. He just hit me. I don't know why.

When I told Orange Croc Guy about this, he said I was lucky they didn't make me walk the line to prove that I wasn't drunk. lol!

The guy's car had to be towed away, but mine didn't. The tow truck driver said he could just put my spare tire on and send me on my way. I was worried about there being damage I just couldn't see, but other than the car really needing to be realigned now it drives ok. I did ask the cute tow truck driver to stay behind as I was driving away just to make sure I didn't have a problem. He was nice enough to do just that, but he wasn't willing to follow me all the way home.

I have to replace the tire and the rim because it took most of the hit and is bent all out of shape. Hopefully, his insurance company will spring for all new rims so I'm not stuck trying to find one that matches the others on the car.

I was a little sore today, but other than that I'm fine and I know how lucky that makes me!

Thank you, Olay Regenerist!

I don't drink coffee or sodas with caffeine in them. I can't stand the taste of coffee and the caffeine in soft drinks totally messes with my sleep habits. So, I always shower in the morning to wake myself up.

Now, I know that we're all supposed to be Earth conscience, but sometimes in the evenings, a girl just needs a long hot relaxing bath or maybe even another shower. It washes away the dirt and grim from the day and is just so relaxing you gotta love it. I've even been known to soak in the tub until the water gets cold and then drain some of that out to add more hot water. lol!

Well, last night was one of the nights when I needed a relaxing shower. So, I had the water turned up just as hot as I could stand it and I could feel my body relaxing as a result. It was wonderful!

I was so relaxed that it took me a minute or two to realize that my shampoo just wasn't working right. I finally realized that it was because I was washing my hair with my facial cleanser. I kind of freaked out and rinsed the cleanser out of my hair hoping that my hair wouldn't come out with it. lol!

My hair is very fine and thin and has absolutely no curl, but as it dried I noticed that it felt soft and full of body. So, I just had to check myself out in the mirror. Let me tell you...I was having a seriously GOOD hair night! Too bad I was too tired to go out and show it off. lol! I called my neighbor and told her to come over to see my beautiful hair, but she was jealous and wouldn't come.

As I went to bed I got a little worried that my hair might fall out while I was sleeping. Then I started thinking about how horrible that would be if it fell out and never grew back. Or, even worse, what if it fell out and then grew back in some weird color. I don't know how to not be a blonde! Needless to say, I did some serious tossing and turning last night!

I was very relieved this morning to wake up with hair that was still blonde. It was rather rumpled from all the tossing and turning, but it was perfectly moisturized and had fewer visible wrinkles. lol!

The Day Ginger Snapped part 10

Download wordart here
This is finally the end of the fourth chapter. lol!

Are you sure you want to keep reading this?

"Oh my God, girl, I know that story has got to be true because no one could make that crap up!"

"Thanks, Hal. I believe he definitely gets a tally mark on the loser side of the board."

"It's already been added and I'm about to give everyone a round on the house. Now, just tell us when you'll be back and we'll make sure to have a pitcher of Margaritas waiting for you."

"Um, Hal, is everyone still listening?"

"Yeah, Ginger, we're still here. We can hear you." Several different voices called out.

"Good, then I only have to say this one time. I'm not coming back, at least not yet. I've already made arrangements to take the rest of the school year off."

"Ginger, you get your crazy butt back down here right now or I'm coming after you with a white jacket myself." Gail screamed into the phone and I was afraid that she might actually try to come through the phone line to get me.

"Bonnie and I will be right there to help her!" Linda slurred

"Ginger, it's Bonnie, if you don't come back to work what will you do?"

"Oh Bonnie, I knew you would understand. I've got more old boyfriends to look up. I've found one loser and I just know that there has to be more."

"I'm telling you that the girl has snapped! Call the police and have them trace this call! She needs to be committed!" Gail screamed at the top of her lungs to anyone who would listen.

"Ginger, you're about to go farther down a road that you might not really want to travel. The problem is that by the time you figure it out, it might be too late for you."

"I'm a big girl, Bonnie. I know what I'm doing. I'll be fine." I was starting to wonder myself if I had made a mistake.

"Ginger, I have to go to the bathroom now. Bye."

"Bye, Linda. I promise to call back next week and fill you in on everything."

I think I've lost it...again!

Download wordart here

Today was our 90th day of school and that means we're halfway through another school year. It also means that Zero the Hero was supposed to make an appearance, but guess which teacher forgot to pick up the treats.

Can you guess?

Did you guess me?

Why would you think that I would forget something so important and so fun?

OK, so you're right...I forgot.

Sadly....my class DIDN'T forget.

As soon as I opened the door to let them in class this morning I heard, "Is today Zero the Hero day?" (That was when I realized that I forgot to remember to buy the treats.) I stood there trying to think of something to say when I was met with, "It it Zero the Hero Day.", "You said it was." "You said it was the 90th day of school." (Why did they pick today to actually remember what I say?)

I said that I hoped he would come to visit and that we would just have to wait and see. Then I went through the rest of the morning trying to ignore the fact that I forgot what an important day it was.

I really did PLAN to run to the store during lunch and pick up some kind of snack, but I was doing such a good job of ignoring the important day that I completely forgot to go. I picked my class up from lunch and led them back to the class. I stood there holding the door open for them to enter and instead of being greeted with the usual hugs all I got was, "Was there a note on the door?" (Drats! They were looking for a note from Zero the Hero and I didn't even remember to leave that!)

As the kids entered the room and saw that there was no Zero shaped snack waiting for them, they didn't even try to hide their disappointment. I sprang into action and kindly but firmly starting Blaming Zero the Hero!

ME: I don't know why we didn't get a snack. We've been good all day.

VARIOUS KIDS: Where is he? Did you do something?"

ME: I was in the room the whole time because I wanted to see him and he never came by.

WELL, those little traitors immediately took Zero's side and started blaming me!

VARIOUS KIDS: Why didn't you leave? You should have just left! We didn't get a snack because of Ms. Brown! What are we going to do now? Can you call him?

I wanted the kids to get mad at Zero the Hero, but they got mad at me instead. Well, I'm also Zero the Hero, so either way I guess they were going to get mad at me. But, if they had gotten mad at Zero the Hero they wouldn't have known they were mad at me and I would still have looked like the good guy.

Since I can't beat them I'm just going to join them! If I can remember to stop at the store in the morning (because I already forgot to stop on my way home from school) I'll pick up a snack and leave it out during lunch with a note from Zero the Hero saying that he stopped by on the 90th day, but didn't come in because Ms. Brown was in the room and he was in a hurry.

The kids should love that!
