On top of spending most of the day with a killer headache and feeling like I just might be getting a cold I am going to bed knowing that tomorrow my day has to start with a meeting and then end with another one.

I wonder if anyone will believe me if I just sleep in and say the alarm never went off.  Lol

One of my students came to class today in a really BAD mood.  On the playground he got angry with me and at the top of his lungs started scream crying, "I have the worst teacher!"

I was torn between feeling happy and disappointed. I mean, am I just THE worst or am I the very BEST  at being the worst.  After all, one could almost be considered a compliment. (I'll let you decide which one that is)

Anyway, five minutes later as he was going back and forth between talking to his friends and yelling about me or just school in general I was on the verge of getting a headache and was ready for him to stop.  I told him that I had my radio and could call the principal so he could talk to him about.  The kids response.....

"He's not going to agree with me!"

You needed to hear the tone of voice he used for that answer.  He said it like he just couldn't believe that I had made such a ridiculous suggestion.  I mean, why waste your time talking to someone who isn't going to agree with you, right?

I had to walk away so he wouldn't see me laughing.

The weeks are too long!

The other day one of my students decided to get up and turn the lights off in the lunchroom while everyone was eating.   When I picked my class up and was filled in on what she had done,I asked why and her answer was, "Well, it was kind of funny."

I very sternly said, "I asked WHY you turned the lights off."

At this point she put her hands out in front of her and said very slowly and in the tone of voice most grown ups use when they're telling a child something for the second time, "It was kind of funny."

That's right ladies and gentlemen, my five year old kindergarten student decided to cause total chaos in the lunchroom because she thought "it was kind of funny"!

Seriously, how far away is June?

I spent the morning in a workshop about an updated version of a computer program we use at school. It was wonderful!  I love the old program, but the new one really has a lot more to offer.

Get this ~ the new program is only for the ESOL students in our classes.  That means three of my 18 students get to use the wonderful new program while the others have to continue using the older version of the same program.

Please, someone, explain to me how this makes sense!
