I sorta, kinda followed directions...

OK, so I finally took the time to try Tammy DeYoungs' tutorial at AimeeAsher. She put together a great set of directions, but I'm not the best student so I didn't read them all the way through. LOL! Anyway, here's what my attempt at making a background paper looks like...

Next time I'll read all the directions. LOL!

I've been working on things for our end of year Luau and the graphics in the Sunshine Beach Blog train have been perfect! I made these Play-Doh Labels using Shel Belle's portion. These make perfect not too expensive end of the school year gifts for kids.

Shel is kind enough to let me share the label with you so if you grab it make sure you go by her blog and check out everything else she has to offer!

They've announced that two schools in Dade County are closed due to suspected swine flu cases and neither one of them is mine. Guess I'll be going to school. Bummer! Oh, I am so bad!

OK, I'm going to bed now. Enjoy your day!

I can't believe I did it!

There are a couple of things I did today that I can't believe. First off, I can't believe I set the alarm clock to go off on a Saturday. LOL! I had errands to run and I wanted to get them done before the NSD fun started in the forums. Of course, I just turned the alarm off and went back to sleep. LOL!

I got my errands run and spent lots of time online today. Didn't get anything done around the house, but who cares! We had so much fun on the Stuff to Scrap Forum today. I took part in my very first speed scrap, played bingo and spent way too much time in the chat room. The result of my first speed scrap are in the post below this one and it's not very pretty. LOL! But the hotties from the SWAT team are pretty!

The second thing I can't believe I did was talk to the guy I was waiting in line behind at Walgreens. The guy I was behind was Mark Consuelos! Do you know who I'm talking about? He played Mateo on All My Children and is married to Kelly Ripa.

My Walgreens always has a line at the pharmacy and they never have enough people working! Today was the first time I didn't mind. LOL! There was one customer being waited on and two more waiting. I got into line behind the cute guy thinking he looked familiar. Once I realized who he was I decided that I just had to talk to him. So, I leaned up and asked him if he had been waiting long. I am such a dork! He said that he hadn't but that he felt like it probably was going to be a long wait. I told him that wasn't good news, but in my head I was thinking, "I'm enjoying the view so I don't mind!" LOL! I told you I was a dork!

Well, the line moved and someone else came to help at the register so it was his turn and he was at the register farthest from where the line started. I turned to the girl waiting behind me and told her who I thought he was and we were both staring at him and smiling from ear to ear when he looked around and caught us. LOL! They asked him his last name and he confirmed that I was right when he said "Consuelos"

Apparently he has a sick child. Poor baby! He was told that he had a 30 minute wait for the medicine. When I left he was standing in the parking lot talking to his taxi driver. By the way, I'm 5'4" and he's not really that much taller than I am, but he does smell good. LOL!

I haven't attempted Tammy's tutorial at Aimee Asher on making a background paper yet. But, I have seen some that others have made and they are looking good. Maybe I'll fit that in tomorrow.

April is letting me share a coupon to her store at Scrap it Sassy with you. It's good for the whole month of May! Spend at least $10 in her store and you save $3.00. That's a pretty good deal, but they have a sale going on now so it gets even better! Make sure you get the code off the coupon.

By the way, the wine tasting was lots of fun the other night. Too bad I didn't have my camera with me!

I'm heading off to bed now. Enjoy your day!

Happy May!

This is a beautiful quote that was requested by Jessica. I hope you can use it too. Enjoy your day!

Don't forget to come by the Stuff to Scrap Forum on Saturday to check out the fun and try to win some prizes!

If you use Photoshop and are design challenged like I am, Tammy DeYoung is going to being giving a tutorial on how to make a background paper at Aimee Asher Saturday morning at 8 AM Central Time.

I'm going to an evening of wine tasting and h'orderves until 9:00 PM Friday night. So, here's hoping I get up in time to join some of the early fun at the forums. LOL! I've also got some things I need to take care of during the day on Saturday, but I will be spending as much time as I can celebrating National Scrapbooking Day online!

I've got an extra wordart freebie for you today that was requested by Dianna of Digicats. She's working on a Mother's Day Kit and I just can't wait to see it! Hope you can use this too...

Another weekend is over

It's amazing how fast the weekend goes when you pretty much sleep through it. LOL! There are four school days and one teacher workday this week so hopefully, I'll be able to make it through with no problem. I've got so much to do that I really need that workday on Friday!

Have you visited Aimee Asher lately? Tammy DeYoung has re-released an Easter set from last year that is just adorable. Of course, I'm very partial to this set. LOL! Here's the preview for you to see...

Notice my name? That's only part of the reason I like love this set. The awesome graphics are the other reason.

I didn't play around as much as I had wanted to this weekend. I did make a SOE candy wrapper for you using April's Fishing With Dad Kit. It's such a great kit! Perfect for those weekend fishing trips! Sorry I don't have a sample put together for you, for here's a preview of what the wrapper looks like. The back is blank so you can add your own information.

Here's a layout I made using just a small part of Deanna's contribution.

I can't wait to get the rest of the kit from the blog train!

OK, it's way past my bedtime and I've got a long day ahead of me. Enjoy your day!

Time flies!

Wow! I can't believe the weekend is over already. Where does the time go? Of course, I completely wasted this day and it was so much fun. LOL!

Tomorrow morning is jury duty day. YUCK! Oh well, at least it will be over and I won't have to worry about getting summoned for another year or so.

Have you checked out the shop at Aimee Asher lately? Tammy DeYoung has put up some Valentine things that she had out last year and this one is my favorite...

Check out the template designer. Yep, that's me! Guess you know why it's my favorite. LOL!

Have you picked up the papers from Shel Belle's Tropical Punch Kit? You should be able to get the first part of the elements later today. Here's another layout I made using the kit...

It's an awesome kit and it's free. You just can't beat that!

April has a cute set called Gingerbread Lane in her store. It's really cute and I've got a quickpage for you that Ill post later this week. It's perfect for any Christmas pictures you haven't scrapped yet, but it can be used for other photos as well. Here's a quick layout I made today...

During the month of January, we teach winter at school and that's such a hard concept to teach in Miami. LOL! Basically, we only know it's winter when the traffic gets even worse because the snowbirds have returned. LOL! I used April's Winters First Snow kit on this layout. I'm trying to get better at extracting parts of photographs. How do you think I did?

Now, I'm off to get some sleep. Enjoy your day!
