I know that I was supposed to post who won the $5.00 gift certificate at Stuff to Scrap yesterday, but it was a pretty busy day for me so I didn't get around to it. Sorry!

I want you to know that I cheated more then once while doing this. LOL! I know that I said only people who posted on their blog and left a comment here would be put in the drawing, but I got so many wonderful emails from people that I included them in the drawing too.

I was really touched by how many people said they would make a post, but not to include them in the drawing because they just wanted to do it for the kids. I put their names in the drawing anyway. That's the first time I cheated. LOL!

Then there were others who emailed saying that they didn't have a blog to post on, but that they would send postcards anyway. I also included their names in the drawing. That's the second time I cheated.

Anyway, I went to random.org to pick a winner. Nita of Nita's Things came up the winner. Well, I didn't want her to win cause she's one of my friends and I was afraid people would think I had cheated. Which I had, but in a good way. LOL! So, this lead to the third time I cheated....

I wrote names on pieces of paper, put them in a bowl and picked one. I actually pulled Nita's name! So, I'm all out of ways to cheat and am giving it to Nita. Congrats! I hope you use the gift certificate to buy me something! LOL!

Thank you so much to everyone who is helping us with this project. I'm so excited and can't wait to see where our first post card will arrive from.

It's a long weekend!

I am so excited that another week is coming to an end! This one is great because it brings a three day weekend! Right now the only thing that could make it better would be if it were also a pay day. LOL!

Do you have any big plans for the weekend. I am going to catch up on some things at home, hit up a sell or two, spend some time with my friends that I have been neglecting since school started and get lots of sleep.

Shel is hosting a speed scrap at Stuff to Scrap this Saturday. Speed scraps are always fun----even if I'm not any good at them. LOL! Check out the participation prize you'll get just for joining in on the fun...

We had air today!

The air conditioning was working today and we were back to wearing sweaters in the room again. Our building only has two temperatures---freezing and boiling. LOL! Trust me, the freezing temperature is much better then the boiling.

Thank you all for the nice emails about our class postcard project! You guys are the best! I can't wait for them to start arriving!

It's time to beg again!

Today brought my 22nd kindergarten student and a building with no air conditioning. Needless to say, I'm really glad that today is over! Hopefully tomorrow will be a calmer, cooler day.

It's time for me to send out my annual plea for postcards from your hometown and/or vacation spots. We use these in class to learn about other places and compare them to where we live. I've done this project for a few years now and it is always such a big hit with the kids in my class. There is nothing they love more then receiving
these postcards from far away and not so far away places.

My school isn't really in the inner city, but it isn't in the best of neighborhoods either. Most of the kids in my class have never traveled anywhere other then to the houses right on their street. Many of them don't even go to the beach and we live in Miami! Your postcards open up the world to them and gets them thinking about places they would like to visit or even live someday.

We will be collecting these all year so if you can't send us one right now it's Ok. We'll be happy any time they arrive! Here's our address if you can help us out...
