It's time to beg again!

Download wordart here

Today brought my 22nd kindergarten student and a building with no air conditioning. Needless to say, I'm really glad that today is over! Hopefully tomorrow will be a calmer, cooler day.

It's time for me to send out my annual plea for postcards from your hometown and/or vacation spots. We use these in class to learn about other places and compare them to where we live. I've done this project for a few years now and it is always such a big hit with the kids in my class. There is nothing they love more then receiving
these postcards from far away and not so far away places.

My school isn't really in the inner city, but it isn't in the best of neighborhoods either. Most of the kids in my class have never traveled anywhere other then to the houses right on their street. Many of them don't even go to the beach and we live in Miami! Your postcards open up the world to them and gets them thinking about places they would like to visit or even live someday.

We will be collecting these all year so if you can't send us one right now it's Ok. We'll be happy any time they arrive! Here's our address if you can help us out...

Ms. Brown's Class
Greynolds Park Elementary
1536 N.E. 179th Street
North Miami Beach, FL 33162

I've got a second part to my request this year. Will you please make a post about our project on your blog? You can either put the address on your blog or send your readers here to get it.

If you make a post on your blog, please come back here and leave a comment with the link and on Friday I will pick someone to win a $5.00 gift certificate to the store at Stuff to Scrap.

I'll keep you updated on how many postcards we receive!

I'll be back later to post my part of the STS September Blog Train!

  1. I teach at an American School in Egypt and follow your blog daily. I'll see if I can have one of my classes send postcards to you. It might be a little while though, I'll need to go find postcards, which means I'll need to go to a tourist area.

  2. I am also a Kindergarten Teacher and a newbie digiscrapper. I see all kinds of potential for this skill. Thanks for sharing. I am in Sacramento, California and many of my students have never been to any historical places and they abound here. So sad. Your project is great. Scrappynana6
