I Am The WalkingDead
Download word art here
So you guys know that I think The Walking Dead is the best show in the history of forever, right? I mean tonight while the rest of the world was waiting to watch The Oscars I was watching the rerun of last weeks Walking Dead episode and waiting for the new one to begin.
This latest season is breaking my heart! They're all just so beaten down and weak. When Daryl Dixon cries --- I cry!
Last week, Rick told an awesome story about a talk he had with his grandfather when he was a kid. His grandfather talked about fighting in the war...
...He said he was dead the minute he stepped into enemy territory. Every day he woke up, he told himself, 'Rest in peace. Now get up and go to war!' And then after a few years of pretending he was dead, he made it out alive. And that's the trick of it, I think. We do what we need to do, and then we get to live...
For anyone who doesn't or hasn't read the comics, this is the first time you learn that the zombies aren't the walking dead. The survivors are.
While I rewatched this episode tonight I realized how much Rick's story applies to my life right now. I not in a war, but I am fighting a battle, but between a principal who has gone off the deep end and believes we now must treat kindergarten students like doctoral candidates and some life changing personal issues I'm dealing with.....I am the walking dead.
It's OK though, because like Rick said.....I'll do what I need to do and then I'll get to live.....and maybe do an art project or two, because I don't care how many you do in preschool, kindergarten students still need and deserve to do them too. ~No matter what my principal says

We don't do cold well in Miami! I know many of you would come to town now and think it's spring time, but we are FREEZING!
It's not fun! Bring on the summer weather!

What a week!
Download word art here
OK, people I am getting a little tired of going online and seeing teachers in other places bragging about how they haven't had to go to school all week because of the snow. You guys need to pack up some of that snow and/or ice you no longer want and ship it to Miami so I can have a snow day/week/month/year.
I've been trying to tell everyone that we need to take a "sympathy snow day" to show that we understand your pain and stand united as one. No one ever listens to me though!
I told you we were going to see 50 Shades of Gray didn't I? Well, I read the books and they were so much better than the movie. There were four of us and we were bored. My friend Ingrid snuck a water bottle filled with Vodka into the theater and we were still bored!
We did get some really good laughs out of the reactions of an older lady that was sitting on the same row as us. I'm not sure where she has been for the last few years, but apparently this lady had NO idea what the movie was about. At one point we were laughing so hard at this ladies reaction to something that a completely different lady actually "shushed" us.
Yeah, there weren't any men in the theater. LOL!
You should also know that to make things even funnier the theater was showing the movie with Spanish subtitles. Yeah, we're classy broads, we watch our movies with subtitles. LOL!
Wednesday was a normal day. Nothing exciting happened except for the fact that OCG gave me a new stupid green "you know what". When I asked if he was making fun of me he said.....
Yes, and I also heard the Mega Millions drawing is up to 100 million. So, here you go.
I don't think I can go through this again. The disappointment when it's all over and I'm still poor and have to go to work everyday just hurts too much.
But.....I still really want that summer house in Maine.....
This morning, not long after the kids got to class, the power went out in out building then on the whole campus. As soon as it went out one of my students looked around and very loudly said....
Not cool, man. Not cool!
I was excited and hoped that the power would stay off and they would have to send us home.....forever.
I tried to keep things normal and calm though. As a matter of fact, I tried to keep things so normal that I tried to put kids on the computer to work. That didn't work out too well. LOL! You know it's bad when a five year old has to point out to you that they can't go on the computer because it's not working and the lights are off.
The power came back on before too long, but we never got internet up and working. No internet meant no computer time for the kids and it meant no Smartboard activities for me.
I know that the Smartboards are outdated and mine is terminally unaligned, but they are the best we've got and I have seriously forgotten how to teach without using mine.
On a bright note, there are only 29 more days until Vegas and 66 more school days until summer vacation!

So, I spent my three day weekend doing nothing! Seriously! Today I never even got my fitbit past the first light when you tap it. LOL!
Yes, I'm still wearing the fitbit! Mostly, out of habit than a desire to impress my friends with the amount of steps I take in a day. LOL!
Tuesday night I'm going out with the girls to see 50 Shades of Gray. Everyone has different work schedules so we couldn't go earlier. I've heard all about how bad the movie is, but it's still girl time so we'll have fun.

Good bye, summer home in Maine....
Download word art here
Starting now there is to be no more talk of stupid green candles that don't do what Grandma said they would do or green shirts.
I can't buy a summer home in Maine on the $21 I won in the powerball drawing.
I threw my stupid "you know what" away!
However, there will continue to be green margaritas!

I'm ready to win!
Download word art here
OK, people, this is it! It's my lucky night! I am going to be seriously rich when I wake up in the morning!
I wore a green shirt today. My green candle is burning. The margaritas I drank tonight were green.
I'm going to win some green money in tonight's powerball drawing.
When I left school today, I even told people.....
Good bye, forever! I'm going to win 400 million tonight and I'm never coming back here again!
As I type this, I know that the winning numbers are already posted online, but I don't want to look yet. I want to go to bed poor and wake up rich.
I also don't want to have to cry myself to sleep, like I know I will, if I didn't win.
Seriously, people, I've got my summer home in Maine all picked out and there's room for all of you to visit.
I am ready for this!

It was supposed to be a different kind of good!
Download word art here
So, I was really excited for The Walking Dead on Sunday night. Really excited! It was good. Really Good!
But...it was good in a bad way, because I'm not happy with who they killed off! I won't tell you who it was, but I will tell you that it wasn't Daryl. That's a good thing cause I don't know if I would have survived without my Daryl!
I'm still not happy with who they killed off, though!
I went to bed in shock. My green candle is broken, I'm still poor and have to go to work everyday and no The Walking Dead has done this to me!
Thank goodness we have a long weekend coming up!

Trying to change my karma!
Download word art here
OK, I must have some really messed up karma.
In case you haven't figured it out, I'm a little obsessed with the stupid green candles at the moment. Seriously, if any of you would like to get together and throw an intervention on my behalf I'll be grateful. I'll even bring the stupid green candles for ambience. LOL!
I decided that I must have some truly messed up karma going on cause that's the only thing that can explain why I've been so miserable lately. Well, that and the fact that my principal has been acting like a total tool since August.
Something happened at school a couple of days ago and I've been trying to talk to my principal about it since it happened. I'm angry. He knows I'm angry. He has been too "busy" to talk to me.
I just keep trying to remind myself that summer will be here soon enough and Vegas will be here even sooner than that!
Anyway, I woke up this morning and thought that I needed to do something to change my karma. I needed to be a better me!
I needed to go by the ATM and after I did that I stopped and handed my favorite homeless person some money. Now, I know that some people will think the fact that I even have a favorite homeless person will prove that my karma is messed up beyond repair. But, I still gave something to someone who has even less than I do even though my stupid green candle isn't working and I'm still poor and have to go to work everyday.
When I got to work I resisted the urge to tell my principal exactly what I think of him and his no fun at school approach to education. That alone should have done wonders to improve my karma!
On the way home I needed to stop at the grocery store. I had exactly three items to pay for and headed right for the express lane. There was only one other person there and she had about 100 thousand items over the 10 item limit. I resisted the urge to ask the cashier if there was an express lane open and to give the lady in front of me a nasty look after the cashier confirmed that I was indeed standing in the 10 items or less lane. Instead, I just sucked it up and stood there quietly since it was still the shortest line in the store.
The lady in front of me must have way worse karma than I do! That's the only thing I can think of that would have caused her to be as mean as she was. She complained because she had picked up the wrong items and didn't get what was on sale. She acted like it was the cashiers fault and didn't care that even more people had started to line up behind me. This lady actually DEMANDED that the poor cashier go get her the right can of whatever it was that she wanted to buy on sale and the poor girl was so flustered that she actually left to go get it.
Once the cashier walked away the lady turned to me and said, "Can you believe how things are run around here?"
I couldn't help it! I had tried to be good all day and it was just more than I could handle. I replied...
Well, I 'm not sure, but I think that if you tried just a little harder you could be even ruder to that girl.
The lady didn't seem to understand the point I was trying to make because she agreed with me, but the guy who was standing behind me sure got a laugh out of my response.
Karma.....I take two steps forward and one step back.....

Someone save me!

So, I woke up on Thursday morning and learned that I had only won $8. That's not even close to the $317 million that I was hoping to win.
Thanks a lot, stupid green candle!
$8 is more than enough to cover the cost of the ticket I bought, but doesn't cover the cost of that stupid green candle.
I've still got the receipt for the candle. I wonder if I can take it back to the store and tell them it's broken because I'm still poor and have to go to work everyday. Do you think they'll give me my money back? Do you think they'll give me my money back without trying to send me to the looney bin?
Anyway, my day was pretty much downhill from the start. No money, lots of rain, a class that is very challenging and a boss that gets on my nerves a little more everyday.
Seriously, is it summer yet?
Oh, and I'm also sorry about the mistake on yesterday's word art. I'll try to get it redone and posted over the weekend. No promises though, cause I may run away...

Still burning that green candle...
Download word art here
I'm still burning that stupid green candle and waiting for some money to come my way. I really want to have rich people problems! I just know I would be good with rich people problems!
Actually, I burned through that first green candle and stopped to buy a new one today. Hopefully, this one won't be broken like the last one was!
It's greener than the other green candle, so that has to be good.....right?
The Mega Millions is up to $40 million and the Powerball is over $300 million and I really want to call into work rich!
Seriously, someone somewhere is going to wake up and find that they are suddenly rich. Why can't it be me?
At school today, I had to talk to a boy about his behavior and he got angry and answered me with.....
That is a school teacher problem! I've had enough of those!
I want rich people problems!
Because of that stupid green candle, my house smells like a pine tree and it's not Christmas and I'm not in the mountains. I deserve to win for putting up with that, right?
