The insanity continues!

Remember my post about HSN blocking my address because someone who lived here before us didn't pay their bill? Well get a load of this.....
Today I got an email letting me know that my spending limit had been raised by $1,000. I figured, they must have taken the block off of my account and raised my credit limit as a way of saying "sorry". I also figured they thought it would keep me from closing the account like I told them I would do since they didn't want to ship anything to me anyway.
So, I go to their sight and through some cute waterproof boots into my cart and go to check out. I don't really "need" the boots, but they are cute and I wanted to see what would happen if I tried to order something.
Can you guess what happened?
That's right.....I got the same stupid message as before!
Why would they increase the spending limit on a card that I can't use because they don't like my address?

OK, here's another "Why do these things always happen to me" story for you!
I have an HSN card that I rarely use, but I've had it for years and it has a pretty good spending limit so I hold onto it. Once or twice a year I order something just to keep it active and I always pay it off as soon as whatever I've ordered arrives.
Tuesday night....well, it was probably more like Wednesday morning....I went online to order a new paper shredder and at the last minute I threw in a cute umbrella that I saw. When I went to check out I had to update my address since this is the first time I've used the card since our move to Memphis. When I finally submitted my order, I got a message that read...
Due to a problem with your account, we're unable to process your order at this time.
Please call Customer Service at 1-800-933-2887.
I figured that they just wanted to verify it was actually me since I changed my address and called in excited about the cute new umbrella I would be getting in a few days. That's right, Merry Christmas to me!
After holding for almost 30 minutes I finally get to talk to someone who tells me that there is nothing wrong with my account but that there is a problem with my address.
It seems that whoever lived here before we did also had an HSN account and they didn't pay their bill. Because of that, this address is on a "do not ship to" list. That's right, Bah Hum Bug, HSN!
I was so confused. I seriously couldn't believe it when the lady told me that they actually flag an address when someone doesn't pay their bill.
I have never heard of such a thing! I don't know who lived here before we did! Also, since the address is flagged it may not have been because of the person who lived here before us. It might be because of someone who lived here before they did. It could also be because of someone who lived here 10, 20 or even 80 freaking years ago!
Flag that person's name or their card number or their social security number, but not the address! This is America! People move!
By the way, that is their actual customer service number above. Feel free to call them and tell them how stupid their address flagging policy is!

Why is it so complicated?

Friday was a half day at school, which was awesome. By the time the students left, I was feeling pretty bad. I was all stuffy and my throat was a little sore.
As soon as I got home, I put on my jammies and crawled into bed to watch TV. By 7 PM I had turned the TV off and fallen to sleep. I didn't wake up again until 7 AM Saturday. 12 wonderful hours of sleep!
By 10AM, I was back in bed and napped until 2 PM.
When I woke up from my nap, I started thinking that maybe I was a little sicker than I thought.
I ran out to the drugstore to pick up something for the stuffiness and overall yucky feeling. The girl working the counter yelled out to the pharmacist, "She wants some Claritin!" He then stopped what he was doing to come over and question me about my symptoms and whether or not I had high blood pressure.
I wanted to tell him that I didn't have high blood pressure until he started questioning me! I was a good girl though and didn't.
Seriously, why can't I just buy Claritin without having the people in the drugstore giving me the third degree or staring at me like I'm sort sort of drug addict?

Gatlinburg and Dolly Parton
Dolly Parton is amazing!
I loved her telethon tonight and everything she has done for her hometown and the surrounding area.
I am currently trying to convince OCG that we need to bring in the new year in Gatlinburg. He is currently looking at me and shaking his head in the way that he always does when I decide that we "just have to" do something.
Hopefully, I'll get my way.......
