The hardest part about going back to work was simply getting out of bed. Seriously, I kept telling myself that if I would just get my lazy butt up I would be ok. After hitting the snooze button four times I finally did get up, but I really didn't want to.
I got to school and everyone looked so relaxed and rested and I said that we should take a picture of eeryone and then take another one on Friday and compare the two. Another teacher said we wouldn't have to wait until Friday. If we took a picture on Monday and another one on Tuesday we would already be able to see a difference.
It's sad, but true!
Anyway, I was having a normal day. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't fun and exciting either. It was just kind of BLAH. Then, I went over to the main campus and found a surprise waiting for me in my mailbox. A package all the way from Australia!
That's when my day got exciting!
Two new books for my class, pretty shiny pencils and fun shaped erasers! The kids said it was like Christmas all over again. And it was...but better!
My assistant principal said, "Really, people just send you stuff? Why?"
And I of course replied "Because we're awesome!"
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I gave my principal the transfer request form we have to fill out if we want to look for a job at another school. He didn't seem to believe that I was serious. I assured him that I haven't been lying about how unhappy I am and that if anything I've understated it.
My school that I once loved so much has changed. My grade level and the people I work with have changed. The girls I traveled to London and Paris with have retired, moved on to other schools or have been forced to move to another grade level. I'm the sole survivor and it's lonely and sad.
It's time for me to move on to new adventures now too. Once I finally made that decision I became instantly happier. I don't know where the next school year will find me, but I'm looking forward to it!
After school I had to fight the afternoon traffic heading to the mall which is never fun. I had to go get the security sensor removed from a pair of pants that I bought right after Christmas. I didn't realize that they left it on there until I pulled them out to wear. Isn't that how it always is?
Anyway, I get to the mall explain that I bought the pants in another town right after Christmas, that I don't have the receipt but that I did use my Macys card so they could look it up to make sure I didn't steal them. The girl was super nice and removed the sensor without any questions. I was in and out of the mall in no time.
I decided that since I had survived another day at work and the afternoon traffic and that since I was so close to my favorite cupcake place I deserved a treat.
Seriously guys, these things are awesome! They are so awesome that they caused a serious fight between OCG and I. You see, he had the nerve to eat 3 of my cupcakes.
Seriously!
I have no problem with him eating one, but three!?!?
Here's how that conversation went...
OCG: What's the big deal? You still have three left.
ME: That's just it, I ONLY bought 6!
OCG: What...
ME: What am I supposed to eat for breakfast now?
OCG: Do you hear the things you say?
ME: Do you?
My remaining cupcakes are well hidden!
Now, I have to ask you guys a very serious question..
.Who watched Galavant?
I recorded it on Sunday night and watched it this afternoon when I got home and I am so glad I did. It was just so ridiculously corny and bad that it was awesome! I read a review that said "Galavant is perfect, Thank God it's only 8 episodes"
There's singing and bad jokes and a really hot guy and an even hotter John Stamos! AWESOME!
In one scene there's this nerdy little chef talking nervously to the king and explaining that the king had killed the last four generations of chefs in his family. Then he says, "This isn't a very good job." I laughed until I cried!
You need to watch this show! I promise you'll find it just as badly perfect as I do!
Watched Galavant too, and loved it. Good thing I got my husband used to musicals through Glee, so he loved it too. I agree, Stamos was great in that part. Love reading your blog, it's the only one I read on a regular basis. I'm routing for you!
