I still have 9 more days of school. 9 more days!
We went on stage Thursday morning to practice for our end of year show next Friday. My class went first and it was the typical everything is wrong, but they're in kindergarten so their parents will love it kind of show. LOL!
When we were finished, we took our place in the audience to watch and cheer on the other classes. One of my girls broke down in tears. Seriously, uncontrollable crying. I asked her what was wrong and she said....."This is just really sad."
She was crying because kindergarten is ending. When she explained to the other kids why she was crying some of them started crying too.
So, they're all sitting there crying while the other kids and teachers stared at us like we were crazy. Someone asked me what was wrong with my class and the only reply I had was....
I don't know. I lost control of them a long time ago.
I had to say that. I had to distance. I had to because I don't think I can handle 9 days of crying. It's the end of the year and I only have a couple boxes of tissues left.
Thank you for sharing this is so true ( awesome, awesome, awesome)
ReplyDeleteWhen you talk about how much your job causes you stress and unhappiness, I sometimes wonder why you still do it. I guess this is why. Bless you. Now I need a tissue...
ReplyDeleteAwe!! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI would have loved you to teach my children, through all the rants, underneath teaching is what you love...like most of us that work in or for 'authorities' and 'public services' the establishment is what drives us nuts! Ticking boxes is not why we do it...hugs to you hunnie
ReplyDeleteIt's because you're a wonderful teacher that kindergarten was such a special place for these little ones. Hang in there hon - you can do 9 days with your eyes closed and standing on your head. hugs hugs hugs and wine
