We decided to take the long way home and got on the Natchez Trace Parkway in Nashville. When I tell you that it's "the long way" I really mean it! We have been on the parkway for 4 hours and realized that we had only traveled 53 miles. LOL!
There's just that much to see! At some point, we want to continue this drive. Another all American Road Trip to add to the bucket list!
On top of the views you have from the parkway, there were two different waterfalls, a War of 1812 Memorial, The Gordon House and the place where Meriwether Lewis (Lewis and Clark Expedition) died. There were other places to stop and see to, but because of a time crunch we had to hurry on our way.
People hike this parkway too! They follow the original roadway.
Great photos Ginger. Looks like a lovely place to visit.
ReplyDeleteThese photos were perfect for me to get to see some interesting history of the state of Tennessee, and since it is unlikely I will ever get there, I enjoyed being able to read what the landmarks were all about! Thanks so much for sharing your vacation with us!!
