Who has the voodoo doll?
Download word art here: https://app.box.com/s/k5qm7jamx1i92esnn0f5
Yesterday it was the sock and the computer. Today it's everything else. So, seriously, whoever has the voodoo doll that looks like me, PLEASE give me a break.
I had to leave school early today for a doctor's appointment, but when I woke up this morning I didn't feel good. The kids in my class had been kind enough yo share their colds with me. The cough, the congestion, the sneezes.....GROSS!
As I'm leaving school I get a phone call from the doctor's office saying they need to reschedule my appointment. I figure, oh well, the sub is already here and I feel like crap and I need to go to the store to buy some things for our 100th day of school celebration. I decide that I might as well go home and go to sleep then go to the store later. The sleep will be good for me.
And it was! I still feel crummy, but I slept well. Lol!
When I woke up I was hungry and decided that I needed soup. So, being the awesome cook that I am I opened a can and started cooking. Actually, I just kind of stood there and watched and waited and waited and waited and waited.....
Then I screamed, "OMG! The oven is broken!"
I immediately call OCG cause, you know, what else am I going to do?
Me: I don't feel good and I want soup and the oven is broken!
OCG: Wait a minute, did you just say you're making soup in the oven?
Me: umm, duh, how else am I going to make soup?
OCG: I don't know. Maybe on the STOVE or in the microwave like a normal person.
Me: Ugh! I said oven, but I meant stove. That's the top part, right? It's on the top part, but it's not getting hot.
OCG: Did you turn it on?
Me: (getting angry) Of course I turned it....oh, wait a minute...
Yea, I had forgotten to actually turn the STOVE on and I'm pretty sure OCG is still laughing at me.
I gave up on the soup and went back to bed.
I've spent the last couple of hours looking for my 100th day of school t-shirt and I can't find it. It's hard to keep up with something you only wear once a year.
Now, I'm taking my sick self back to bed and hoping that somehow the t-shirt will magically appear in the morning and the cold will disappear.

Wanna be my sugar daddy?

Who wants to be nice and buy me a new computer?
What? No one! Really?
Well, let me tell you what happened anyway.
I was sitting on the bed killing time and playing on the computer when I decided to move to the living room to watch the big TV. I sort of half way put the screen down, stood up and took about four steps. That's when I stepped on a sock that didn't quite make it into the basket with the dirty laundry like it was supposed to, slipped and fell. It was one of those sudden, " I have no idea what's happening falls".
STOP LAUGHING!
I fell and the computer went flying.
Now, I've a a very colorful bruise that, luckily, is in a place no one had to see and the computer won't even turn on. The screen looks a little wonky too and isn't exactly attached the way it's supposed to be attached.
Want to buy me a new computer now?
No?
Hey, it never hurts to ask, does it. Lol!
Thank goodness for the iPad!

Who, me?
Download word art here: https://app.box.com/s/zy34rlamcnd47hbiycm8
Today at school one of my students approached me and said, "You know, you're a very good teacher but a very bad girl."
On the outside I smiled, but on the inside I panicked! My first thoughts were...
How do you know? Who told you? You didn't see the pictures did you!"
Then I realized she was talking about the fact that I tried to get them to just sit on the playground and watch as I played. They didn't go for it though!
Doesn't that make them the bad ones?

An unexpected phone call
Download word art here: https://app.box.com/s/j83qnwartws2p57y4m0o
I checked my phone a little while ago and found that I had several missed calls and one voice mail. The area code was was very familiar, but the number wasn't. I listened to the voice mail expecting a telemarketer or wrong number or some other weird and bothersome call. What I got was a pleasant surprise.

Wishing Fence
Download word art here: https://app.box.com/s/iqh4q0sq32dbl7gjo1qs
I read a blog post awhile back about a lady who had turned one of the trees in her yard into a wishing tree. She talked about how everyone loved the tree and I fell in love with it too.
I knew right away I wanted to do something similar at school. For the safety of everyone involved we decided to go with a wishing fence. Today, my class placed the first wishes on the fence.
There are typical kid wishes, wishes that you agree with, wishes that make you proud and wishes that break your heart....
I wish my parents loved me
I wish I had Ms. Brown had a lot of money
I wish everyone's wish could come true
I wish we didn't have to go to school
I wish I had an Xbox
I wish that my family always stays happy
There are extra tags outside for others to write down their wishes. So, if you're in the area, drop by and add your wish to our wishing fence.
I'm wishing for our wishing fence to be a big success.
Hopefully, I'll have more wishes to share with you.

Bucket List
I know you've probably seen this list before, it's been floating around Facebook for awhile. I love it! How much fun would it be to actually do some of these things?
I am all about wearing the life t-shirt and handing out lemons! Of course, it would also be fun to be Dracula....excuse me, I mean...Dr. acula. Lol!
Which one would you like to do?

Who's stealing my weekend?
Download word art here: https://app.box.com/s/nhnzoi9r5mfzwlrazf4d
I spent most of Saturday doing something I didn't want to do in a place I didn't want to be. I felt bad about it because everyone was so great and told me how glad they were I was there.
Seriously, why do people have to be so nice when all you want to do is be miserable? Then you feel really bad about being unhappy and miserable which makes you even more unhappy and miserable.
I put on a fake smile and struggled through cause there was no reason to make everyone else as unhappy and miserable as I was. It was still a really long day and because of a commitment I've made there are going to be more days just like this one.
Today I woke up a little after 9, left to run errands a little 12, got home again a little after 2 and then the next thing I knew it was 8 pm.
That means I either spent 6 hours lying around, watching TV, eating junk food and playing on the
computer or aliens took possession of my body causing me to lose 6 hours.
I'm kind of hoping there were aliens!

Cabin Fever by Shel Belle Scraps
If you're like me, you're inside hiding from the cold weather. It was 47 here this morning! At this point, I know some of you think that 47 would feel like a heat wave, but this is Miami and I'm a wimp. So, I'm inside wrapped up under a blanket watching TV. I've got a margarita and some chips, so I think I'll survive. Lol!
Shel Belle Scraps has released a fun, beautiful kit for everyone who had been stuck inside for so long they've got a case of Cabin Fever. Check it out...
Cabin Fever has 23 papers, 49 elements and an alpha. There's also a set of matching sweater papers...

Sugared Lemons
Download word art here: https://app.box.com/s/7vm0abouja2g9ewc01px
One of my students gave me a sugared lemons candle from Bath & Body Works.
BEST CANDLE EVER!!!
I burned it for a little while last night after I got my crazy fire alarm sorted out.
Seriously, who else does that? You know, come home to a fire alarm that thinks it is supposed to beep every two minutes and think, "Hey, maybe I'll light that new candle I got!" Lol!
Anyway, the candle was great. Not too strong or too sweet, but the best part about it is that I could still smell it when I got home from work today. It smelled like someone had been in my house baking cookies. Really good cookies!
Seriously, I could bring in someone who doesn't know me and convince them that I had been baking....from scratch!
Anyone who knows me would be looking for the cookie scented air freshener, but a total stranger would be completely fooled!
BEST CANDLE EVER!!!

Fire!!!
Download word art here: https://app.box.com/s/zc6gee5amj7cv4i6koqz
Last Friday I was in my class working on the usual Friday morning things with my class when there was suddenly a knock....make that a pounding....on the windows.
It scared me!
I jumped up and away from the table I was sitting at and the kid I was working with ready to scream and run because of whatever emergency had caused some crazy person to wander away from the sidewalk and plant their fists on my window.
What I was standing outside my window was another kindergarten teacher, one who is usually pretty calm, looking like a deranged person screaming for me to get out of the building because there was a fire drill.
Now, I had taken some cold medicine that morning, but I seriously doubted that I was so out of it I would miss a fire drill. I looked around the room quickly and listened.....
No blaring alarm...no flashing lights....nothing....except for the crazy, screaming lady at the window.
I laughed, wondering what kind of "medicine" she had taken that morning and motioned to the silent, non-blinking fire thingy on the wall and said, "No there's not."
She insisted that there was and screamed that everyone else was already outside.
I looked into the hallway and saw the kids in the room across from mine. I turned back toward the window to tell the teacher, that I am now sure is trying to punk me, that those kids are still in there room but she was no where to be seen.
I look across the hall again and see that the teacher in that room is now lining her class up like she is leaving the building. I wondered just who in the world had knocked on her window and told her to get out, but decided maybe I should leave the building too.
I told my kids to line up, grabbed the hand of the first kid, asked the high school volunteers to bring up the end of the line and started down the hallway. By this time, the crazy teacher has now entered the building and as she is rushing into the office she asks me if everyone is out of the building.
I laugh and tell her that I'm the only one leaving as I head for the front door. Before I get out of the building I hear her on the intercom telling everyone that there's a fire drill and we should all leave the building.
There was still no blaring alarm or flashing lights!
I get outside and see that there are actually other classes out there!
At first, I'm thinking, "OMG! That woman has gone crazy and actually managed to get everyone out of the building!"
Then I have it explained to me that the fire alarm had actually gone off on the main campus. Some of the teachers in my building whose classrooms face the main campus have managed to hear the alarm and/or noticed those classes leaving the building and they.....well, they panicked!
Today, I came home from work and kept hearing this annoying beeping sound. The battery in my fire alarm needed to be changed.
I'm still laughing!

It really wasn't my fault!

I woke up this morning feeling yucky. I made it to work, but only lasted half a day.
Once I got home, I learned that all of my friends were sick too. It seems that something at the "bring what you want" brunch we had on Sunday morning was the culprit.
We all know I don't cook, so I didn't bring food. I wasn't the one trying to poison everyone I know! Yea me!
Everyone is starting to feel better now, but I doubt we'll be getting together for Sunday brunch again anytime soon. Lol!

***Come back tomorrow for the the "you're" version of this word art!***
Ok, I admit it, I'm a wimp! It was too cold to get out of bed this morning!
I know some of you woke up to temps that were below zero, so our 57 degree morning sounds like a heat wave to you, but this is south Florida and we were cold!
I had students show up wearing what appeared to be every clothing item they own in order to stay warm.
Hope we get back to flip flop weather soon!
