OK, so you guys know how unhappy I've been this school year. Well, it's not just me...my entire school is unhappy. My principal has gone off the deep end and it's so draining. It's so draining that they had to cancel our school holiday get together because no one even wanted to go.
Seriously! When that email came through this morning my reaction was.... "OMG! We literally work for The Grinch that Stole Christmas!"
Except, maybe he's worse than the Grinch..... afterall, even though it was small.....the Grinch had a heart. My principal...I'm not too sure about.
Add my principal with the fact that I have an extremely...uummmm...challenging...class this year and I am just barely hanging in there.
Seriously! When I went back to the doctor for my follow up appointment after having the flu I begged for some kind of surgery that would get me 4 to 6 weeks off from school. That's how bad it is and I don't see it getting better any time soon.
I'll be getting my resume in order over Christmas break. The truly sad thing is that I am just one of more teachers than I can count that will be doing that exact thing.
The excitement of the day came when we went on lock down because of a shooting at the Walmart down the street. The lockdown didn't last very long, but according to the news a 17 year old boy was the target and he was killed.....rather brutally. There was an innocent lady waiting at a bus stop who ended up getting shot in the leg. I'm not sure how she's doing.
When I got home I checked Facebook to catch up on gossip and learned that one of my friends was at Walmart when everything happened and the shooter actually ran right past her. She had no idea what was going on at the time, but apparently he ran into the store after everything went down outside of the store. She said he got caught up in the crowd and had to stop right beside HER to wait for people to move before he could take off running again.
The news also said that the police had arrested a couple of people that were connected with the shooting. They had gotten on a mini bus that picks up people right outside of Walmart.
OK, people, let this be a lesson for you.....NEVER go to Walmart!
Now, I have to go to bed because I must try and survive 9 more school days before vacation begins.
