Today I learned that one of my online friends passed away. If you ever hang out at AimeeAsher you know who I'm talking about. DebD, was a wonderful lady that went out of her way to be friendly to everyone. The forum at AimeeAsher just got a little quieter and a lot lonelier. Deb is greatly missed already.

I'm heading back to work after staying home sick. I know I should just stay home since it's Friday, but the big kids are putting on a Christmas play and I just don't want to miss it. LOL! Right now I need all the help I can get when it comes to getting into the Christmas spirit.

I played around with April's new kit, Jolly Ol' St. Nick today. It's the cutest kit and right now you can buy it for only $3.00.

Here's a preview of what's in the kit...

And here's the page I made today...

Today is the first day of a new blog train called Christmas Around the World and I was lucky enough to get to play with Deanna "Flower Scraps" part of the kit before hand. It's awesome! I put together three scrap pages and I didn't come anywhere near using all the elements or papers she included. Here are the pages I made...

For Toby

I woke up this morning with a horrible case of the yuckies. So, I'm home today coughing and sneezing and napping. Don't you just hate using your sick days when you're really sick? LOL!

Anyway, it's given me time to catch up on some requests that I've received. This one is for Toby, who was kind enough to let me play with her snow picture. You can pick it up here

Changing weather

What a beautiful day! The temperature was in the 80's. Now, they are saying that we have another cold front heading our way. All this means is that we've got lots of sick kids at school! LOL! That's the reason for today's wordart. You can pick it up here.

I spent a little more time playing with April's kit. It's called Chris's Rustic Cowboy and it's on sell for $3.00 now. It's an awesome set! Here's what I did today.

April's also got a set of quick pages that she made with this set and they are adorable! You can go check them out here. They're also on sell so you get 4 12x12 quickpages for $1.50. How cool is that!

OK, it's time for me to go to bed. Enjoy your day!

Don't worry, be happy

There are eight more school days until Christmas vacation. Not that I'm counting or anything. LOL!

Yesterday, I was feeling overwhelmed with everything I've got going on and I wasn't much fun to be around. My friends took me out for some much needed margarita therapy. You know, that's the best therapy there is, don't you? We all compared stories and offered suggestions that would probably cause all of us to lose our jobs.

We were having a good time and laughing so loudly that people from other tables joined in on our conversation. It was an awesome night and I was once again reminded of what a wonderful circle of friends I have. No matter how bad the day, they can always cheer me up.

Anyway, today's quote is a toast that my friend Kevin gave while we were out. You can pick it up here and I hope that you can use it for something.

Wasted day & memories

Well, I kind of wasted this day. I finished up an order I had for 150 wrapped candy bars and then spent the rest of the day doing pretty much nothing. It was great! Although, I am worried that I'm starting to have way to many lazy days. Trust me, I've got plenty that I should be doing!

I have people make fun of my North Carolina accent all the time even though I don't think I have one. LOL! I let them know that although I may sound like a country girl, I am a city girl through and through! Even as a young girl growing up in that small NC town I just knew that I was supposed to live in the city. So, imagine my surprise when I grew up moved to Miami and fell in love with a cowboy. When Charlie was alive, he always owned horses and if I had ever asked him to choose the horses or me, there's no doubt that he would have chosen the horses. He even rode out a hurricane in his truck, out in the pasture, once because he had gone to check on the horses and lost track of time. I was worried and he just laughed it off. Thank goodness we didn't take a direct hit from that storm!

Needless to say, those horses caused more than one argument! At the time it drove me crazy, but now I would give anything to be able to listen to him explain why the horses needed this or that. April the Scrapaholic has got an awesome set called Chris' Rustic Cowboy that I just had to play with. The set is on sale for 50% off! Here's a simple layout I did using one of the background papers and frames:

Now, on to today's wordart. You can download it here

Ok, it's bedtime for me. Two more weeks of work then two weeks of vacation. I can make it!

Beautiful Day

I can't even begin to tell you how beautiful this day was! I went to a party today for a friends daughter. She had her Sweet 16. It wasn't as big or outrageous as the parties you see on MTV, but it was pretty close. She was happy and he was proud and a good time was had by all. She was given a day that she will never forget and I guess that's all that matters.

I actually put this wordart together a while back, but today seems like a good time to post it. So, you can pick it up here.
