Frosty Part 2

Download wordart here

Well, after the freezing cold weather we've had around here lately things have finally gotten back to normal. We've had two beautiful days in a row! YIPPEE!!! I can't tell you how nice it has been to get outside again!

I know that some of you aren't as lucky as I am and you're still dealing with the cold weather. I hope you're getting lots of pictures, because today is the day you get the second part of Shel's Frosty kit.

Next Sunday, Shel will give out the third part of her awesome kit and I'll be giving this layout away as a quickpage.

We got some good news on Friday! One of the guys I work with has a brother who is a doctor that has been living and working in Haiti. He finally heard from him and he is safe and unharmed.

Another sad day

Download wordart here

Wow, has this ever been a sad week. I teach at a school that has a pretty high Haitian population and many of these children come from families that still have relatives living in Haiti. The earthquake there has really effected our school here.

I have three students in my class that still have family living in Haiti. My students don't really understand the magnitude of the devastation or what not hearing from relatives could mean.

Our guidance counselors were busy for most of the day with kids that were upset and worried about family members they hadn't heard from. We even have a couple of teachers that still had no word from their families living in Haiti at three this afternoon.

It's so sad and I know that the next couple of days will bring more sadness for many of these families.

Sad news

Download wordart here

I got some sad news today. My friend April's husband passed away last night. I was able to talk to April on the phone for a few minutes and while she seems to be holding herself together I know that her heart is broken.

If you could send up some prayers of comfort for April I would appreciate it and I know that she would too.

On top of everything else she has going on, April is having trouble with her internet connection. I'm not sure how long it will be before we see a new kit from her, but I know she will check in through her blog as soon as she is feeling up to it. In the mean time, you can check out the kits she already has in her store at Scrap it Sassy.

Templates by Scraps of Ellay

Download wordart here

I can't even begin to tell you how cold it is here! Shel laughs at me every time I tell her I'm cold because she lives in Minnesota and thinks we're practically having a heat wave here. LOL! That would be the reason I don't live in Minnesota!

I wish you could see how the kids come to school all bundled up in these heavy coats with hats and gloves and even boots. I don't even where they bought all that stuff. LOL!

Do you ever find yourself with some wonderful pictures to scrap but have no idea where you should put them on the layout? Well, here comes Scraps of Ellay to the rescue! Ellay has added two sets of templates to her store and they are on sale now!

The first set is called "Dress Me Up". You can use the templates just the way they are or you can dress them up with lots of extras. Take a look at this preview...

The second set is called "Top Ten Templates". These are great for layouts with lots of pictures. A couple of the girls are doing monthly layouts about their top ten best/favorite moments of the month and these templates are perfect for those layouts. Here's the preview...

These templates are also on sale! Both sets are CU friendly!

OK, it's past my bedtime so I'm going to get some sleep now. Enjoy your day and don't forget to look for me at digifree!

There's a new kit in the Stuff to Scrap store by Scraps of Ellay called Thompson's Room and it is just too cute! I love the colors and elements in this kit. Take a look at this preview...

The kit is even on sale! Right now you can get this kit which has 17 papers, 46 elements and a full alphabet for only $2.99!

Of course, Ellay has also put together some wonderful paper packs as well as a set of brag book pages and a set of quickpages and they are all on sale too!

If you're like me and want it all you can get the Thompson's Room Bundle for only $6.74 while it's on sale. That's an awesome deal!

I've made two things with the kit, the first is a layout...

My neighbor needed a candle for a baby shower she was hosting so she showed up at my door the night before the shower with a sad look on her face, a white candle in one hand and a bag on fun size Snickers in the other. LOL! Here's the candle I made for her...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

If she had any idea just how easy it is to make the candles, she wouldn't have given me the entire bag of candy. LOL!

I'm going to get some sleep now. Enjoy your day and don't forget to look for me at digifree!
