A bad day turned good

I was so not in the mood to get out of bed this morning! When we go back to school after a holiday or long weekend we usually find two things...1. Some local gang has tagged our building...2. The air conditioning isn't working.

The good news is that our building wasn't tagged. The bad news is that our AC was broken.

So, I entered a very hot and stuffy classroom expecting to have a very long, tiring and hot day. I got a note from a parent saying that her son told her I "smile alot" and make him "not shy". My day instantly improved!

Then the frosting on my cake came when we were introduced to our new Kindergarten teacher! YIPPEE!!!! Looks like we're actually going to try and follow the state class size amendment after all!!!

THEN.....The AC got fixed and the whole building cooled down.

Yep, it was a good day!

My Favorite Blogger

There are lots of blogs that I like to read. As a matter of fact, I don't have a blog list posted because it would be way toooooo long. lol!

Like most things in my life, when it comes to blogs I have very eclectic tastes. I like the craft blogs, the entertainment blogs, travel blogs, wanna be writer blogs, the I'm mad about everything blogs, the blogs that people use to advertise products and the blogs that people use to give us all glimpses into their lives.

My all time favorite blog is written by Juliana (Jewels) and is called A Blonde Walks Into A Blog. Jewels got pneumonia back in July and is still sick.

It's been a year and a half since I had my own hospital stay because of pneumonia and I am still amazed when my doctor reminds me of just how close to death I came. Actually, I am still dealing with some complications that came about as a result of that illness and it's been less then a year since my friend, April, lost her husband to pneumonia.

Pneumonia is a nasty, nasty thing! It's bad enough all by itself, but Jewels has other health problems too. She has finally posted an update on her blog for the first time in a month and she could really use some prayers.

If you've never visited her blog before check out some of her older posts. Her open letters to her son and to her brother who committed suicide are beautiful. Have your tissues ready though cause if you're anything like me...you'll be crying.
