Hardcore!

Today, I was working with a group of students on a math game. We had spread out some number cards and were trying to make math sentences using doubles, doubles plus 1 or doubles plus 2. We had to pick two addends, tell what kind of number sentence we were going to make then say the problem and give the sum. I was picking the low numbers so that the kids were working with the higher, harder numbers.
I thought I was being sneaky! I didn't think they would figure out what I was doing.
I picked 0 + 0 only to have a student say...
Yeah, I was going to use that, but I like to go hardcore.

Spring break plans

OK, I know that some of you are dealing with snow --- since you have no school on snow days, you'll get no sympathy from me --- I'm making spring break plans.
We are going to Washington, DC! My friend's husband has already booked our hotel and is watching for cheap airline tickets. He says Tuesdays are the best days to buy plane tickets and since he has never let us down when it comes to vacation planning we're trusting him.
Some of my friends were surprised that we chose DC, but I assured them that we'll manage to get into just as much trouble there as we got into in Vegas last year. LOL!
Actually, we're hoping that we'll be lucky enough to see the cherry trees in blossom. I have always wanted to see that in person! However, with my luck, we'll probably still need long sleeves and coats.
Spring break starts March 18 and if there are no cherry tree blossoms, we'll just have to spend more time at the bars in Georgetown. LOL!
