Revenge of the donuts!

I told you my class still believed I had a secret donut stash under the table!  On Friday morning I had kids purposely removing the ear cushions from the headphones just so they could hold them up and call out, "I found another donut!" 

After I explained that they were going to ruin the headphones and we would have to turn the computers off because those were the only headphones I had they finally stopped.  But, what they did instead was just as funny and annoying.  As the kids went to the computer they put the headphones on and called out, "Look, I've got donuts on my ears!"

Needless to say, I was happy when the day was over!

Saturday morning I participated in the Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk.  That means I was one of over 30,000 people from all over the world who was out taking pictures.  The group I was with met on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale and there were about 50 of us.

We had some rain and had to take shelter a couple of times, but it was still a great day.  Of course, lunch at The Cheesecake Factory was pretty awesome too!

This morning at school I ran into a student that had been in my room a few years back.  This kid is still in elementary school bust as soon as he saw me he said, "Wow, are you still teaching?"  I asked just how old he thought I was.  Luckily, the kid was smart enough not to answer that question!

After my students came to class and were getting settled in for the day one of them brought me the ear covering from a set of headphones at the computers.  Another student called out that it was a donut and everyone got excited.  Even after I showed them the headphones and got the covering back where it was supposed to be I had kids looking for donuts.

I think some of them still believe I have a secret donut stash hidden under the table.

I have the perfect story to go with this kit!

This morning one of my students came into the room crying because he had forgotten his book bag at home. I told him it was Ok and to just think of all the times I've told them about something I had left at home.

Right after I said that another voice from across the room called out.....four!

LOL! Yep, I was busted!

Actually, I was kind of impressed because I would have bet money that it had happened more than four times.

So, after school today the kindergarten teachers had to meet with our principal and the reading coach to go over the results of that stupid FAIR test we're forced to give three times a year.

Even though the first test tells you what the kids know when they enter kindergarten and we have no control over that;  it was still one of those, "You're doing a good job, but...." kind of meetings.

Needless to say, I left school in a really bad mood!

My one and only goal at this moment in time is to survive the week so that I can watch the season premiere of The Walking Dead on Sunday.
