Big news from Shel Belle Scraps

Download word art here

This post is jam-packed with exciting announcements and goodies from Shel Belle Scraps. Be sure you're settled in!

First up: A rewards program! It's something Shel has been working on and planning for some time. It works like this: Spend $50 in her store and earn a $5 coupon toward your next purchase. Simply fill in spaces on your card with the invoice/order number and date of your purchase. When your card is full, send it to Shel via email. She'll verify your purchases and send you a $5 coupon to use in her store. As an added bonus, any purchases made January 1, 2013 or later count toward your card.

(To save this image, right click and choose "save image as" to download to your computer.)

Shel is also launching a new monthly template challenge. (Future challenges will start on the first of the month.) Each month, there will be a new template for you to use in creating a layout. Download it, and using one of Shel Belle Scraps current (not retired) products, create a layout. Upload it to her gallery and leave a comment on the monthly template challenge blog post with a link to your layout. You'll have until midnight CST to complete the challenge. One lucky participant will be chosen  for a $5 gift certificate to the Shel Belle Scraps store.

This month's template was designed to help you scrap your New Year's resolutions. You may be like me and be struggling a bit to stick to those resolutions you created a couple of weeks ago. Shel created this template to help remember what they are in the hopes it will bolster her success. Of course, there are other ways you could use it too (list of your favorite memories of an event, list of reasons you love someone, list of what makes you unique, etc.)

Phew! I told you it was a jam-packed post! Be sure you download the reward program card and the template. And don't forget to post a link to your layout in the comment thread on Shel's blog!

Manda and Steph of Two Moose Designs are launching a new product line for the new year.  By the end of 2013 you can have 12 wonderful kits with an "I Am" theme to scrap your lives.

Since January is all about resolutions and new beginnings this month's kit is called I Am Organized.

There are 14 papers, 38 elements and 2 full alphas in this gorgeous kit.

If you would like something a little smaller there is also an add-on with some basic papers and elements using the same color scheme.

I am pretty much the most UNorganized person in the world, but I had to play with this kit.  Here are some layouts I made...

It's sad but true...

Download word art here

For the first time in years teachers in Dade county actually got a raise!  That should be exciting shouldn't it?  Well, sadly the raise kicked in at the same time the new tax laws did and here's how my salary breaks down...

I now make an extra $47.20 every two weeks.
There's an extra $17.82 in federal taxes being taken from my check.
Social Security is taking an extra $68.74.
Medicare is getting an extra $1.06.
Thanks to the worst governor in the history of the world an extra $1.41 is going into the Florida retirement system.
I made changes to the amount of things I willing have taken from my check so that amount decreased $20.98.

So.....all in all, after getting my long awaited raise, I am now bringing home $20.85 less than I was.

Yep, I went to college for this!  What was I thinking?
