Alum cave Trail

Download word art here

Here are pictures from our hike up to Alum Cave Bluffs.  No one has been able to answer my very important question.....If they can install all those stairs on the trail, why can't they install an elevator?

I did have fun sitting at the cave as other hikers came up and telling them that I had to use the stairs too because the elevator was out of order or that I couldn't find it. LOL!

This is a fun hike with lots of beautiful viewing spots, but oh my Lord, those stairs.....

The Cave in Cades Cove

Download word art here

Everytime we go to Gatlinburg the day either starts or ends with a drive through Cades Cove.  There is also always something I want to find while we're there.  This time it was the cave...

Everyone wanted to know if I was dumb.....I mean brave.....enough to go inside the cave.  The answer is YES!  Well, you can't go in too far because the park rangers have put up a metal fence to block the way.  I'm sure that is to protect humans and animals.

Skullbone, Tennessee

Download word art here

There was one more out of the way place that I just had to visit while we were on vacation...

Skullbone, Tennessee

This place isn't located on a map anywhere and my pictures will give you a view of the entire town.  Seriously!

Apparently, this place used to be the go to area for bare knuckle fights until they were ruled illegal by the government.  The people in this area were so upset that their favorite sport had been outlawed that they decided to rename their town of Gilbert to Skullbone and secede from the nation.  They never did secede, but Skullbone still stands.

If you go into the store, they'll give you a free Skullbone, Tennessee postcard!
