Everyone knows that part of our Gatlinburg vacations  includes eating as many waffle cone ice cream cones from the Cades Cove campgound store as possible.  Well, there was one day that we cheated and got our ice cream from a new place in Pigeon Forge called Curl de la Creme.  They actually make your ice cream right in front of you!

You decide if you want chocolate or vanilla and pick one filling.  Then you get to pick up to three toppings.  I went with the Fourth of July special of vanilla ice cream with Red Velvet Oreo.  then I added chocolate syrup, M&Ms and whipped cream.

I also nerded out and took lots of pictures as my ice cream was being made....

It was yummy, but I have to say that a regular waffle cone from Cades Cove is still my favorite!

Alum cave Trail

Here are pictures from our hike up to Alum Cave Bluffs.  No one has been able to answer my very important question.....If they can install all those stairs on the trail, why can't they install an elevator?

I did have fun sitting at the cave as other hikers came up and telling them that I had to use the stairs too because the elevator was out of order or that I couldn't find it. LOL!

 This is a fun hike with lots of beautiful viewing spots, but oh my Lord, those stairs.....
