Download wordart hereI have a little girl in my class that has a very beautiful, very long name. Today I called on her using only the first syllable of her name. She just sat there and didn't say anything.
ME: Is it OK if I call you that for short.
HER: Are you saying that's my short name.
ME: Yes, if it's OK with you.
HER: No, I don't like it.
ME: OK, I won't call you that anymore.
When we were on the playground I heard her talking to some of the other kids and complaining about me....
"She said that was my short name, but I'm not short!"
I'm still laughing!
