Things really need to slow down!

Download wordart here

Have you ever been so busy that you feel like you don't have time to breathe? Well, that's been my life lately and I'm ready for things to slow down!

School has been crazy. Apparently, the powers that be have decided that teachers are worthless and must be micro-managed while also deciding that ALL students understand and remember EVERYTHING the first time they're exposed to it. That has made things rather..... umm......interesting....and exhausting!

Is it November yet? I really need my "me" month!

  1. Crazy busy!! I so know what you are talking about. It's like everything all at once and here I am at 1:25 in the morning & I'm finally checking the emails & posting on blogger. Very overwhelming when it's like this. I think I sat on my butt the entire month of September. Then October came around and I'm booked out until November 13th. Then the Christmas crap will start.
I think teachers are awesome. I'm married to one and the cuts they have been making along with the demands "they" think that are attainable are unreal. How will there be any future generations without education? And who makes that education possible-dedicated teachers that love to teach kids. I could go on about politicians pay, insurance benefits and retirement programs compared to the men and women sculpting the minds of the kids that will be running our country in years to come. I didn't see them take a 20% cut in pay and then take cuts in insurance benefits. Unreal. I better shut up and go to bed;) Peace.

  2. As a former teacher and mother of two teachers, I couldn't agree with you more!!! I see my daughters working 12 hour days,6 days a week. They are both already exhausted. One teaches kindergarten...need I say more. Does she ever sit down during the day...and lunch..15 minutes at most. AND...she must get her Master's degree, using her huge salary, within 5 years of graduation. We are going to drive good teachers away. Thank you for hanging in there!

  5. Yep - it's insane in the public schools! i taught school in a parochial school and had a great deal of freedom in my classroom. i had friends who taught in public school - boo hiss! i couldn't believe how they were micromanaged! My first years in a public school, however, were in the 1970s and i had an excellent principal who believed teachers should teach and not be bogged down with nonsense. My kids went to that school and my colleagues were marvelous teachers. Then i left teaching and worked for CPS while my son was in high school - by that time, the system ruled. i was NOT happy with his last two years of HS. What a mess the ed system is now! No wonder parents are homeschooling! i wouldn't put a kid of mine in public school these days because the teachers have to spend more time on nonsensical rules and regs than on actual teaching. Anyway, thanks for the WA - ice cream can fix a lot of things! (Not, however, our idiot US educational mess!)

  8. Thanks for the darling sentiment..perfect for my grandson!! As a recently retired teacher and a mom to a teacher, I agree with all of you. In our district teachers will now be observed 5 times each year and will be evaluated on their student's test scores~~~ How unfair, I used to get all the reading problems since I am also a reading spec!! If I were in Fla. I would volunteer to come into your class and help. We need and deserved talented educators so please don't give up on our children. They will make your day..each day. God Bless you.

  10. Government is too involoved in our lives. Two of my sisters are teachers and I hear the complaints. It's too bad the children suffer because those who don't teach rule the roost.

Thank you for the word art.
