Sad stories?

Download wordart here

Someone came into my life recently who is a real downer. It's part of the reason I've been so grinchy lately and can't think of anything but vacation.

I'm sorry that bad things happen to people and if it were within my power to stop them or to fix them I would. But, honestly, we've all got a sad story to tell. We can walk around and constantly tell it, bringing ourselves and everyone around us down even more or we can consider it a lesson learned, pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and move on.

Trust me, no one knows better than I do that moving on isn't always the easiest thing to do. Some days will be harder than others and you will backslide. The important thing to remember is that life goes on and you need to move on with it.

This person has talked non-stop about their story and used it as a reason and/or excuse for everything. This person doesn't know my story and they never will. They also don't know that if I put my sad story up against theirs in a contest I would win. Well, maybe it would be more appropriate to say that I would lose because my story is way sadder.

However, I will never enter that contest because I don't want the sad/bad things to define who I am.

What do you think?

  2. Wow.. I know just what you mean. I know people like that. All they want is sympathy and they are not really ready or wanting to do what they need to do to make things better or get over it. It is all just a life of drama. I feel bad for them. They miss out on so many good things of life because they are whining whining whining. I have MUCH more respect for people (like yourself) who get up, brush off the dirt and move on. Sharing when necessary or helpful, but NOT whining. Ugh.. Sorry friend! Hang in there. Don't let it ruin your day. Let it roll off your back... all they want from you is to say uh huh, yeah yeah.. uh huh.. oh sorry.... Don't stress. They really don't want or appreciate your help or advice. Smile.. Cause I LOVE YA!!! And look forward to our sentiments each day! THANK YOU!!!

  3. As hard as it is, rising above is always a win for you. I know it's hard to not get a pity party going. Today has been a bad one for me and I'm trying to remember all the good around me. I'm better than this morning! :)

One more day until VACATION! I'm cheering for you.

Thank you for today's word art.

  4. We have befriended a wonderful young man from Uganda, Africa who returns to his country tomorrow. If anyone had a sad story to tell it could have been him. Instead, each day he smiled and was so happy to be here..happy, healthy, and well. A lesson for everyone, including me. I thing you should distance yourself from this person and enjoy your vacation. Happy Holidays. Hugs
