What freaks you out?

Download wordart here

OK, so you already know that I'm a little claustrophobic, but did you know that gingerbread men freak me out too? I know, crazy huh? It's true though.

Around this time every year people pull out their gingerbread men ornaments for Christmas and I just can't stand it! There's always someone who thinks it will be cute to buy me one of those ornaments since my name is Ginger. It's not cute and you shouldn't do it!

I know everyone looks at all the little Gingerbread men ornaments and sees cuteness. I just see evil. I really think they come to life after one is asleep and go out to do bad things in the world. I bet someday we'll learn that gingerbread men are responsible for a large part of the world's unsolved crimes.

A few years back I worked with a girl who had her kitchen decorated with gingerbread men. Her kitchen was like this all year long, not just for Christmas! I visited her house one time and never went back.

Anyway, I'm bringing this up now because I had to explain my fear to someone today that laughed hysterically at me. I'm pretty sure he thought I was joking, but I wasn't. Those creatures really do freak me out!

So, what freaks you out? Don't be afraid to talk about it. We're all friends here.

  2. Ginger, you make my day!!! I love reading you every morning! You definitely had me laughing today!!!! Gingerbread men? Really? But they really are so cute and, hey, you can eat them!! LOL But what is really horrible is when someone knows you are scared of something and they taunt you with it!!! Something tells me that you may be getting some ginderbread men for gifts this year!

People laugh at me all the time because what freaks me out are bugs!! My friends can not understand how I moved into the country, but it is beautiful, I just wish there were NO BUGS! Yes, yes, I know...we need bugs, they help with this and that, but I don't care! LOL I just want them to stay away from me. If there is a moth or a bee near me I start screaming and running! See...it doesn't have to be a bug that stings or bites, I just don't want that crawly thing to touch me! My biggest fear is that it will get stuck in my hair and I'll have to physically touch it to get it out! One time I had my car window open and a bug flew into the car and into my hair, well, I pulled the car over, jumped out of the car and started screaming at my husband to get it out!!!! He had no clue what I was talking about, but you would have thought someone stabbed me!!! LOL When I was finally able to get my point across he started laughing at me and that just angered me more! He checked my hair and it turned out that it had already taken off. It's really an unreasonable reaction, but as much as I try to control it, I just can NOT! They are just so gross! All those legs, all that prickly hair, ewwwwwwwwwww!!! Of course the ones with pinchers are the worst! Have you ever seen a lacewing up close?? OMG...it could take a whole chunk of skin off!!! very scary!!!

  3. Too funny, Ginger. I love gingerbread! I'll be sure never to send you any!

I'm deathly afraid of snakes. Seventh grade science class was hell. I sat in the front row. The teacher was sitting right in front of me holding a snake and it lunged at me. I let out a shriek and ran to the back of the classroom. I've been terrified of them ever since.

Hello Kitty creeps me out, too, but that's another story altogether. :)

  5. I guess I'm kind of average. I get freaked out by creepy crawlies like snakes, mice and big spiders. This year we've had a record number of huge wolf spiders in our house. I have this horrible vision of our attic filled with them. lol Otherwise, I have no clue where they all come from.

  6. Snakes totally freak me out. Can I just say I read a mystery once about missing Children and the book "The Ginger Bread Man" was found at the site of the abduction. I can totally understand your phobia. Ever since then, I've thought they were a bit evil.

I love this sentiment. Thank you!
